Someone did approach him, the boy with the cursed eyes.
And he was asked: will you be my model?
He found himself in the big city. Cameras at him, taking pictures of his eyes everyday. He was told he was the latest sensation! Everyone wanted a piece of his eyes.
People no longer turned their eyes away from him.
They stared now. Some called his eyes beautiful.
Those who thought he was cursed kept it to themselves. He knew that they didn't care about him. All they wanted were his eyes.
They didn't talk to him. If they did, it was to ask him if he knew anyone like him. And he didn't.
"Your camera's lens is still covered." "Oh, thanks. Can you tilt your head a little more?"
It was strange how he'd become such a loved icon.
Strange that they loved him and yet didn't know--want to know him.
But it was all right for him. He no longer had to hide. And he could actually look at people in the eyes now --even if they couldn't bear to look at him for long.
