page 10 . . . Haw Par Villa grounds
| Okay, we walked back to the animal-headed people! Yes yes, anthropomorphic!
| There's the cheeky pig again!!
| I was just disgusted with him. Yes, digusted enough to stare at him a bit.
| I _had_ mentioned obscene at one point... Or vulgar? *grin*
| One of the many reliefs the statues/scenes were built on or around.
| You could walk up this one to the huge buddha in the earlier pics. (The one I'd said you could take pics with.)
| Oh, now this one I had really enjoyed looking at. Because it just didn't seem chinese. It made me think it has its roots in hinduism or something. And the colours! So many colours!
| It's such an unusual and beautiful statue.
| Don't ask me! Good lords. -_- _What_ is the statue of liberty doing here?! O_o Lordy. -_- In what way does it blend in with Chinese culture or folklore?! *_* Looordy. It was kinda an eyesore. ^_^;; Trust me, some of the things the monument represents, Chinese culture has always kept a strict leash on. Freedom of speech, for one. *snorts* There's no freedom of speech when you're supposed to keep your mouth shut even when an elder insults you; When someone's _older_, you have to show respect no matter what, just because he's _older_; it doesn't matter if he's a racist pig. The ideals are completely out of place. *_* (Sorry, rant over. Please continue the tour.)

| Anyways, away from the statue of weirdness, look at the pagoda behind it. This is a closeup of the area under the pagoda's sloping roof by the statue's elbow.
| Here's a large, white statue of the Goddess of Mercy.
| I really liked the monsters crawling down from under the roof.
| Random brightly coloured dragon.
