Look at who we have here~!

I actually managed to win the lottery for Volks SDC Ryu a couple of months back! Thanks bunches to Su who’d been willing to help me get him, but couldn’t. Thanks to Cassiel who’d first brought my attention to him, and who later told me the lottery was going to be the day after I’d emailed her! (Thank goodness you’d told me in time! ToT) Thanks bunches to ezn gaiden who helped me out on the amount I was short on at the time. *grin*

SDC Ryu is the first Volks doll that’s got me all excited after quite a long time now (I think we could be talking a couple of years or so). You have no idea how excited I’d been to find out that I’d won the lottery, and how anxious the two weeks had been where I’d spent waiting for my payment to Volks to clear! *laughs* I’m paying him off via my credit card’s 6 months installment plan (interest and charges free) to ease the slight financial stress the purchase causes me. But yeah, he’s sooo worth it!

I’d bought Ryu because on first impression, all I could think of was, “Omg, he’s a mini Tsukasa!” I think I’ve mentioned more than once before that the one doll I’ve ever regretted not getting is Tsukasa (and I _will_ get him eventually). So when I saw Ryu and how much like Tsukasa I’d thought he was, I just _had_ to get him in case the same regret came about again in the future. *laughs* And you know, I was right. I love him. I _loove_ him. *laughs*

Volks had emailed me on 26th September, and the package arrived in the country last week, but because of the wickedly long Aidilfitri holiday weekend that started on Thursday, I couldn’t pick him up till today (took a half day off just to do it too). I was sooo happy to see him peeking out at me when I opened up the box for customs inspection at the post office. I drove home as quickly (and safely) as I could in the rain. ^o^

His name is Zair. Za-ir; it’s pronounced like the “sire” part of the word “desire”, if you say it fast.

I love his faceup colours in general, but I do not like his bottom eyelashes. The look is very striking in pictures, but in person it’s odd to me, and it bothers me. This half-bottom-eyelashed look is the same with Yukinojou too, and it’s something I don’t like on our Yuki either. But the beautiful eyeshadow, around the corner of the eyes and on the bottom eyelashes is done just so perfectly. ToT I really would like him repainted so that he has bottom eyelashes all around, but I want the feel of his current faceup to remain. Ergh. I _will_ send the head off to be repainted once I find the resources (finance and expertise-wise). I love how heavily made up he is around the eyes, and it’s what lends him this sexy look, I think.

And you know something? If I ever wanted Khairi replaced with a better model that could pose better, stand better, and tilt its head around its neck better, I’d replace him with SDC Ryu. Just look at the picture above. It’s everything Khairi is to me. There’s a vulnerability to that beautiful face that’s so precious. The faceshape itself is so fragile with it’s pointy chin (reference: first pic). *sobs happily*

No, I won’t ever replace our Khairi, but you know, I bet Ryu is probably going to be Draven’s toy of choice from now on, if not mine. *laughs* We have found Khairi’s limited head tilts quite frustrating at times as it limits what we can have him do. The new Unoa body should solve that, but we haven’t got that yet… *laughs* So I guess until Khairi is improved, we can learn to get along with Zair for now. ^_~

I need smaller/larger fur wigs. Ergh. I’m _not_ stretching any of Khairi’s wigs to make them fit this irregular SDC size, and all my MSD wigs are too large on the SDC head. *makes a face* Luckily I’d bought 14mm eyes for Rika and hadn’t sold any of them. The blue eyes look rather good on Zair. But I need green eyes in his size; green is our colour of choice for all our dolls, and even Ferrahn who has the loveliest blue would choose green over anything else. And I want pink eyes for Zair too. Definitely pink. And maybe purple. *sobs*

It seems that my emails, and pretty everything else computer stored is in such a mess, I wasn’t aware that I had comments to my old entry back in June. O_o Eeps. To make up for it, here’s a post. *laughs*

I don’t think I ever had the chance to introduce a little addition to our place. No. I’m not talking about the little Latidoll we got for Shy. But a little something I got for myself after Maki.

This lil monster is Rika Maki:

He’s wearing a new outfit set I got on eBay. Quite cheap and wellmade and very cute! Actually, Rika’s really a cutie. Only, I haven’t found the perfect eyes for him, and these current eyes fit his faceup colouring, so he’s a lil monster for now. ^_^;

Rika is a BambiCrony doll. I’ve always know I’ll get a YoSD-sized doll eventually. And when Cassiel got her little Vashti, I had _almost_ got the same doll. But I was broke, so I didn’t. And when she got Ishki, and I visited the BC site, I just knew that I’ll eventually get an Elf Pepe in a light green colour. But I found out that they were limited and I was heartbroken! ToT Then BC released Pepe in a regular version. I finally bought my Pepe head and the Elf Cookie (for the magnetic body) and my little Rika came into existence. The little BC body stands wonderfully and is very stable. The only issue I had was over the sanding of the knees, but we can ignore that. The body is very slim and does not seem childlike and I find it perfect for a little pixie or imp of my own. I do wish I had an elf Pepe with the pointy ears, but on the whole, the Pepe face is really cute. The eyes can be overly big at times, and the mouth a tad strange, but I do enjoy how it looks with the faceup I’m inspired to give him.

In truth, there are–were two little Makis. I convinced myself to fall for the Cookie head, so I gave it a name. I eventually got a body for the extra head (and then a replacement head for it because I thought the Gun head suited me better) only to realised that I had only ever needed one little doll. We only play with Rika really, so the decision, when made, to sell the other one didn’t stir up many emotions. I’ll be selling the extra doll in a short while–after I find out how much EMS shipping would cost. So if anyone is interested in a BambiCrony Gun (snow skin) with a magnetic body, let me know? ^_^; I’ve got a few extra heads in the old snow skin too (Elf Cookie, two Lotti heads). -_-

Tonight, I finally attempted to updated the AR Diary’s wordpress blog. It was an update from 1.5.2 or something to the latest 2.5 or something, so the big jump was a bit of a concern. Looking around, I got worried over how complex it seemed, then I came across a solution which only had me adding a plugin and exporting my entries. I tested the import on a trial blog and it worked perfectly. Hohoho. So I deleted the old diary and installed a new one via Fantastico. Which was a mistake, cos it deleted my whole diary folder, which had all my pics in it. -_- I’ve just uploaded the 2006-2008 picture folders and haven’t done the ones before as they aren’t that important.

The blog’s up again, and it’s the second latest version. I’ll probably upgrade to the latest version when I feel like uploading all those WP files manually. But for now, it seems all the entries are there. I just need to find a theme I like and tweak the appearance of the sidebar menu a bit. No time for that. I’ll do that next time. *laughs*

I’d bought the crimson black DSL, thinking of an upgrade (of colour), but I didn’t like it and have since sold it. But with the two DSes, we’d previously been able to play Elite Beat Agents and other games together, which had been awesome. *_*

Yeah, we’re still around. *grin* Everything’s been in a state of neglect these days. Well, okay, so things have been in a state of neglect for months (dare I say years? T_T), but especially so since the beginning of the year. I’ve been so busy with night classes and all that that I haven’t really had the energy or inclination to do anything on my night offs.

But yeah, I’m still alive. We’re all still alive and doing well. Here’s a few random pics… ^_^

This is a nohohon zoku I bought cos I’ve always wanted one. This version is a commemorative 5 million one, and it’s kinda plain, but it’s based off corn, and I love corn so…. Actually, I had a $10 voucher from Play-asia, and since this was $9.90 and shipping was free, I bought it. ^_^; The other colours they had back then didn’t appeal to me so I bought this plain one. I meant to keep him in the office, but it wouldn’t nod at all without any sunlight so I had to bring him home. -_- Strangely, at home, it nods away happily at any time of the day.

And here’s Luthien with a DS his size. You can’t see it that well, but we’re kinda glad we got one to take pics with. A colleague had given to it me when she came back from her HK trip. ^_^

Went to Mars’ place to try Damyn’s new pants on our Yuki (Damyn’s at her place for clothing measurement). I’d hoped to buy similar sized pants from the same seller, but it turns out that Hound waists are smaller than SD16. ToT The pants are Hound size and they fit Damyn (Latidoll Red) perfectly. I’d always assumed Hound were larger, and that their pants were actually loose on SD16s. ToT Rather disappointing really. So our Yuki doesn’t get new pants after all… T_T

Anyways, I hung out at Mars’ for a while and took the chance to take pics of Yuki with Mars’ Ash. People tend to like taking pics of the big guys with the tinies, so I thought I’d do it too. ^_^

So here’s Ash looking uber miserable on Yuki’s lap.

I don’t think he likes our Yuki very much. Hahaha. Or me either. *grin*

Hahaha. Our Yuki’s so cute. (Okay, the plushies too.) I don’t recall if I’ve ever mentioned, but we’ve pretty much gotten used to our Yuki now and adore him to bits. ^o^ He’s still a pain to pose because he’s so top heavy in the chest area. -_- And he’s still apelike with his long arms and big hands, but we love him. ^o^ His face is just sooo beautiful. ^__^ I don’t change the boys so often nowadays (since we have so many), so the lack of clothes for him doesn’t bother us so badly… Though when we have to take photos, it does. *laughs*

I _did_ commission a couple of pants for our Yuki… The pants I’d commissioned years ago from Leigh fit Yuki perfectly. But it’s a pair that Razkil and Kaesh wear regularly, so Yuki’s tends to have to wear with the brown ones in the pic. Let’s hope the new ones fit him fine. Then we’ll have extra short pants that he can wear too. *crosses fingers*

I’d like to get Yuki a couple of new tops… *wince* I should try to start selling stuff again… -_-
